If you educate a man you educate an individual, but when you educate a woman you educate a nation. Long before the Maputo protocol was drafted in 2003, an illustrious son of Africa Dr kwegyir Aggrey born in October 18, 1875 to 1927 has envisaged that progress and development can only be achieved if women are given equal opportunities in our day-to-day administration.
It is based on this wisdom that KM productions the event management and organizer’s of Africa most beautiful pageant has associated itself with the crusade of gender equality and women’s empowerment of the African woman.
From sub Sahara Africa to the east and North, Africa women have been isolated or subjected to a barrage of obsolete cultural practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM) forced marriages and a host of domestic violence.
Whiles the continent has made some strides towards gender equality and women’s empowerment, KM production’s and the event Organizers is of the view that there’s still more to be done especially in the areas of education, health care, decent work and a fair representation in political and economic decision.
The Organizer’s of the pageant Africa most beautiful believes the United Nations sustainable development goals and the African union which defines the goals of gender equality and women’s empowerment could do more to alleviate the plight of the African woman and women globally. We would do ourselves and future generations a great disservice if we abandon women out of the agenda of the development of the continent. KM production’s therefore calls on stakeholders to support and trumpet this noble idea of gender equality and the empowerment of women. Africa’s most beautiful, propelling change through beauty.
